Radioactivity: Live Call-In (Friday)
Coming up there's a new biography of President Eisenhower that paints him in as a much better president than he's been given credit for -- especially for the fact that he kept the nation at peace for his entire 8 years in office -- something that cannot be said for any other President of the last 75 years.
And you may have heard television evangelists recently railing about secularism. We'll meet the head of the the American Humanist Association -- a group which promotes secularism and the separation of church and state.
First up two listener comments about the second part of yesterday's program on which we heard from a veteran Tampa neurosurgeon who along with a team of other doctors provides free medical care for the people of Gaza.
There's a new book about the President Dwight Eisenhower.
Author Jean Edward Smith's new biography could raise public appreciation for Eisenhower in the same way that David McCullough's biography did for Harry Truman. Smith calls Eisenhower the most successful president of the 20th Century -- after Franklin Roosevelt. The author of EISENHOWER IN WAR AND PEACE (Random House) joins us now.
You may have heard the attacks on secular humanism issued by two television evangelists this week -- James Robison and Pat Robertson.
Here to talk about it is Roy Speckhardt, the Executive Director of the American Humanist Association. He's coming from Washington to speak the Unitarian Universalists of Clearwater humanist group on Sat. Feb 25 at the Unitarian Church on Nursery Road at 11 a.m.
