Romney spotlights $15T federal debt

EXETER, N.H. -- Mitt Romney's campaign installed a scoreboard-like prop tonight in a high school wrestling gym.

A national debt tote board.

The clock constantly ticked up, reflecting the ever-rising interest costs of the nation's $15.2 trillion-plus debt, a significant chunk of which Romney attributed to the spending policies of President Obama.

"His vision for America is wrong," Romney told the crowd arrayed on the gym floor.

Romney appeared at Exeter High School with a political celebrity, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

As happens at most of Romney's rallies, protesters interrupted the candidate's stump speech with chants of "Mitt kills jobs! Mitt kills jobs! Mitt kills jobs!"

At another point, protesters chanted, "Christie kills jobs! Christie kills jobs," drawing a rebuke from the New Jersey governor who accused them of "Barack Obama-induced anger."

Romney remains a huge favorite heading into Tuesday's New Hampshire primary and seems increasingly confident.

"This is getting to be more and more fun as time goes on," Romney said.
